Take a moment to consult our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)!
You will most likely find the answers to your questions there.
Who handles the formalities related to hunting rights?
Our OVINI EXPÉDITIONS teams and our local partners handle the formalities. This service is not included in the price and may be payable locally in some countries.
What's included in the price?
Everything is listed in our program descriptions. Generally, it includes a dedicated French-speaking sheep guide, the organization of the hunt, one animal, local transfers, meals and accommodations, initial trophy preparation, etc. This varies depending on the destination, and all details are provided in our descriptions.
What should I bring with me?
We can advise you on the equipment to pack in your backpack.
You’ll find a detailed and indicative list in the expedition guides.
What is the average length of a stay?
Again, the length of your stay depends on the type of hunt you choose: 9 days (5 days of hunting) for wild boar in Tajikistan and red deer in Argentina, 4 days (3 days of hunting) for mouflon or chamois in France, 12 days (including 6 days of hunting) for Marco Polo hunting in Tajikistan… These durations vary depending on the destination and the game: they are detailed in our program descriptions.
What is not included in the price?
International flights to the destination country are not included. Certain domestic flights, licenses and taxes for certain species, local hunting permits in some countries, hunting liability, assistance, and cancellation insurance, gratuities, meals and hotels before and after the hunt, the loan of a rifle (FBT equipped with a scope), a video of your stay upon request, in some areas trophy preparation, taxidermy and bleaching, trophy transport from the hunting area, veterinary certificates, CITES international permits, and transport to the client’s country of residence are also not included.
ALL these additional charges are discussed and disclosed during the booking process and vary depending on the country and the game.
What can my companion do?
We can organize activities during the hunt with a guide/interpreter: visits, spa treatments, hikes.
Of course, your companion can also follow the hunt as a spectator under the conditions stipulated for the expedition.
What are tips used for?
Tips are used to reward the local guides for the quality of service (meal preparation, quality of the horses or transfers, game-rich hunting area, quality trophy, etc.). Our local contacts don’t operate like we do; they need motivation to give their best. Tips vary depending on the destination and are quoted at the time of booking.
What are the cancellation and refund conditions?
A deposit of 50% of the total cost of the hunt is required upon booking.
Cancellation: Due to the nature of our business and the limited number of places available, deposits are non-refundable.
What about accommodation and comfort?
Chalet, cabin, bed and breakfast, yurt, tent, refuge, lodge, hotel… Accommodation options are closely linked to the game being hunted and the hunting territory. As for comfort, it also varies depending on the area. Even if it’s basic, the Ovini Expeditions teams ensure you benefit from the best possible conditions available on site. One thing is certain: you will always receive a warm welcome.
Is it possible to get a video?
We can create a video of your trip for you upon request.
Price: €3500
How is the animal prepared?
Depending on the game and destination, we offer trophy preparation (we butcher the animal and salt the hide), taxidermy, transport of the trophy from the hunting area, veterinary certificate, CITES international clearance, and worldwide shipping.
(This service is not included in the base price.)
Example: Initial trophy preparation on site. We butcher the animal and salt the hide.
